About Us
We have celebrated our 70th year serving estate planning professionals throughout Connecticut!
We are a state wide professional organization comprised of attorneys, certified public accountants (CPA), chartered life underwriters (CLU), Certified Financial Planners, Certified Trust and Financial Advisors. Chartered Financial Consultants and trust officers who specialize in the estate and tax planning field and other individuals who work in the trust, banking, life insurance, legal, accounting or financial services fields.
Council membership benefits include networking and educational opportunities with a diverse group of estate planning professionals from throughout the State of Connecticut. Membership is open to qualified candidates from the above referenced disciplines with a minimum of three years experience in the estate and tax planning field.

COUNCIL INFORMATION
History
The Connecticut Estate & Tax Planning Council was organized on June 6, 1936 and was incorporated on June 9, 1975. It is a not-for-profit interdisciplinary organization of professionals involved in estate planning.
Currently, the Council has over 115 members throughout Connecticut that are estate and tax planning professionals who are Attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, Certified Financial Planners, Chartered Life Underwriters, Chartered Financial Consultants and Trust Company Officers.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of four officers who are elected to serve one year terms, six directors who are each elected to staggered three year terms and the immediate past president. The Board is comprised of representatives from our various professional disciplines. The Board meets approximately six times throughout the year to conduct Council business.
Objectives of the Council
The objectives of the Council shall be:
1. To provide a better understanding among the professions of the services which lawyers, chartered life underwriters, chartered financial consultants, certified financial planners, trust officers and certified public accountants render.
2. To promote cooperation among each of these professions and to foster a better understanding of the proper relationship which each profession bears to the other, to their clients and to the general public.
3. To provide a medium for the discussion of topics of common interest.
Meetings
Three Membership Dinner Meetings are included in the $100 annual membership fee and are held in the months of September, January and May. Meetings include a social and networking hour, dinner and a guest speaker. In May, members can also participate in the CETPC golf outing prior to our Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers and Directors.
Community
Members of the Council are active in professional and civic organizations. Our members actively serve as volunteers, leaders and on the Board of Directors of local volunteer and non-profit organizations.
